- Impatiens necrotic spot virus: Pale patches in lower leaves enlarge and brown with time; young plants may be more severely affected. Control of western flower thrips is essential.
- Stem or crown rot: Stem collapse, possibly resulting from infection by Botrytis or Sclerotinia sclerotiorum.
