Pansy – Phytophthora crown rot

Phytophthora crown rot Phytophthora crown rot is one of the most common diseases on pansy, but it is hard to distinguish from similar looking diseases caused by Fusarium and Myrothecium. Examine wilted plants closely. The top growth will easily pull off the root system because the crown has been softened by Phytophthora. Less frequent irrigation will help curb the spread of the disease. Fungicides such as Subdue/SubdueMAXX, Truban, Terrazole, Banrot, Aliette will help to curb the disease, but be alert to the possibility of resistance to Subdue/SubdueMAXX, which is becoming increasingly common in greenhouses.
